52 Hotel Hana Maui
Hana Highway - Hana Hotel |
Rediscover the newly restored Hotel Hana-Maui
HANA, Hawaii, July 22, 2002 -
This legendary Hotel has
been significantly upgraded and graciously restored in a way that honors
its Hawaiian heritage and the unspoiled natural beauty that make Hana a
special place. Upgrades include refurbished interiors of all Sea Ranch
Cottages, a remodeled Main Dining Room, lobby and
Paniolo Bar, a restored Hana Town Center and Hana Ranch
Restaurant, a redesigned Garden Pool Pavilion, as well as the
addition of many new amenities and services.
"We're
excited about the new Hotel Hana-Maui and are thrilled to again offer an
intimate, world-class luxury resort amid one of the most tranquil and
breathtakingly beautiful settings in the world," said Peter Heinemann, one
of the principal owners of the resort. "Hana is a magical place. We
believe the resort captures that magic, ensuring our guests an
unforgettable stay."
The
designer/interior decorator for the renovations to the Hotel Hana-Maui was
Hunton Conrad of Maui. The redesign project was completed under the
supervision of Passport Resorts, whose principals also manage the Post
Ranch Inn
in Big Sur,
California and the Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort. The Hotel now
reflects a wonderful blend of Hawaiian culture and a sense of place that
embodies the spirit of Hana. The beautiful refurbished Sea Ranch Cottages
are representative of traditional plantation houses seen throughout the
islands. The rooms use indigenous textures, materials and patterns that
provide a warm, comfortable feeling.
The new main dining room is done in earthy tones that capture the
blues of Hana Bay, the greens of the lush tropical forest, and the sunrise
reds and browns of the land. Colorful streamers, reminiscent of
traditional Hawaiian sailing canoes riding the waves, hang from the
ceiling softening the sunlight from the large skylights. Traditional
Hawaiian Kapa was the inspiration for original art work that graces the
columns and beams. Executive Chef Larry Quirit, a Hawaii native and a
recent addition to the Hotel, has created a fresh, new menu, which blends
contemporary cuisine with a regional Hawaiian influence. Dishes are
prepared with locally caught seafood from Hana fishermen and produce grown
in Maui's rich volcanic soil.
The Hotel
Hana-Maui is committed to providing its guests with an authentic Hawaiian
experience. "I want our guests to feel Hana's wonderful hospitality,
warmth and heritage at the Hotel and especially in their relationships
with the staff," said Doug Chang, the Hotel's General Manager and former
president of the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association.
Welcome to Hotel Hana-Maui, a resort located in a remote
tropical setting in the peaceful little village of Hana, on the island of
Maui, in Hawaii. Our vacation cottages are set on 67 beautifully
landscaped acres adjacent to the approximately 4,000 acre Hana Ranch. We
offer our guests an unforgettable stay at one of Hawaii's most relaxing
and healthy retreats.
Known since ancient times as a region of physical and spiritual healing,
Hana retains a Hawaiian sense of place that has been all but lost in
other, more populous parts of our island state. Its history, unmatched
natural beauty, and genuine aloha spirit becomes an indelible part of each
visitor's experience.
The Hotel Hana-Maui, internationally known for its seclusion and beauty
of its location, encompasses 66 rooms and suites located in various
one-story cottages with private lanais. The Hotel's lobby, restaurant,
bar, and library are all located in a central building with an open
courtyard.
The spacious, cottage-style buildings at Hotel Hana-Maui overlook
beautifully landscaped grounds. The interiors feature indigenous textures,
materials and patterns that provide a warm, comfortable feeling.
HOTEL HANA-MAUI recently completed a new spa, which is set to open in
February. The 7,650 square-foot facility is on one acre with views of Hana
Bay and Kauiki Hill. Inside, a waterfall wall greets visitors. Amenities
include a cold plunge pool and a tandem Watsu pool heated to body
temperature, where therapists guide guests through gentle movements.
Outdoor lava-rock showers and a basking whirlpool are near nine treatment
rooms. Five are massage suites, with each averaging 500 square feet with a
private bathroom. Four of the five suites have private gardens, and two
are designated for couples. Two wet rooms and a boutique complete the new
space. Fifteen licensed therapists and four estheticians will administer
Hawaiian treatments such as the Hot Stone Massage and a scrub and wrap
with Honua sugar.
